Aug. 26- 30

I enjoyed seeing everyone at Open House last Wednesday.  I am looking forward to a great year.

I forgot to mention a few things during Open House.
* The students will only have 10 minutes to eat their snack.  Please only send in one snack for your child to eat during this time.
* It would be a good idea to have your daughter wear shorts under her dress or skirts.  This is a suggestion, not a requirement.
* Remember athletic shoes for PE and for music (due to movement) classes.
* READ clubs: When I assess the kids on their sights words, they need to see the word and say it quickly.  If they have to sound out the word or if they read the word slowly, I will mark that the student needs more practice.
* Please send in Addition and Subtraction flash cards.  Write your child's name on the box or baggie.

This week we will be working on the following skills.
- composing and decomposing numbers with tens and ones base ten blocks
- counting and recalling numbers 120, using 120 number chart
- learning more about tools we use when reading text
- talking about letter sounds, vowels/consonants,word families
- learn about Benjamin Franklin contributes and character traits
- how to write a sentence correctly, different between Wow and Blah sentences

Thanks for your support!
