October 26- 30

This week we will:
- work on two step word problems. 
- begin our informational writing project. 
- review phonic rules focusing on long U. 
- write a friendly letter to our parents. 
- learn about Mary Musgrove. 
- begin our Nonfiction text features unit. 

Remember this week is Red Ribbon Week.  Wear Red on Wednesday! 

Also, our Fall Food drive is this week.  

Thanks for attending Fall Conferences last week.  It was wonderful seeing all of you and sharing in the students celebrations. 

If possible, have your child wear his/ her Falcons shirt tomorrow.  Falcons Monday!

- are learning how to measure objects in inches, feet, and yards. 
- will wrap up our study on Tomochichi. 
- will begin learning about Mary Musgrove. 
- will begin our study of Nonfiction Text features. 
- have differentiated reading groups.

- learn about collective nouns.
- learn more about plural nouns.
- review adjectives and learn about adverbs.
- write a friendly letter to parents.
- finish our fables study.
- learn about the Creek Native American tribe and Tomochichi.
- have differentiated reading and phonic small group lessons. 
- have STEM, a Media Center lesson, and a Guidance lesson.

October 5-9

This week we will: 
- learn how to measure objects in meters and centimeters.
- review nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
- learn more about plural nouns and prefixes.
- write a friendly letter to parents.
- continue our folktales study and begin fables study.
- learn more about the Cherokee Native American tribe and Sequoyah.
- have differentiated reading and phonic small group lessons. 

Due to testing with our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade friends, our specials time has been changed to 8:55- 9:40 for the next 2 weeks. We will be back to normal schedule on Oct. 9.
