This week we will:

- learn how to solve two digit addition and subtraction problems using number lines.
- read and discuss informational text, and look for informational text features.
- have guided reading groups. 

- continue our informational writing study.
- learn about long U in phonics/ spelling.
- learn about Tomochichi and Mary Musgrove

Oct. 23-27

This week we will:

- learn how to solve two digit addition problems using partial sums/ expanded form strategy.
- read and discuss informational text, and look for informational text features.
- have guided reading groups. 

- continue our informational writing study.
- learn about long U in phonics/ spelling.
- review common and proper nouns.
- learn about Tomochichi.
- have Fall Centers on Friday afternoon.

Oct. 9- 13

October 9-13

Thursday, Oct. 12 is an Early Release day.  Students will be dismissed at 12:30.

- finish reading our chapter book The Class at the End of the Hall by Douglas Evans
- have guided reading groups focusing on informational text and phonics.

- write a friendly letter to our parents.
- begin our informational writing study.
- learn about long i in phonics/ spelling.
- continue learning about the Creek and Cherokee Native American tribes.
