8 is Great!

Eight fun filled days to end our amazing 2^nd grade year!

Monday, May 15- Field day & Cow Drop

(Reminder: wear team color, tennis shoes, bring a labeled water bottle, bring a change of clothes, wear sun screen)

Tuesday, May 16- Pet Day

Bring a stuffed friend that can fit in your backpack.

Wednesday, May 17- Wacky Wednesday

Thursday, May 18- Friendship day

We will have snack on the track, sign yearbooks, and spend time with our second grade friends.

Friday, May 19- Camp Day

We will have flashlight reading, nature hike, etc.

Monday, May 22- Beach Day & End of the Year Class Centers at 12:00

Bring your beach towel, sunglasses, hats, and get ready to read and play in the sun. Oh, and don’t forget sunscreen!

Tuesday, May 23- Game Day & EARLY RELEASE

Bring a board game, cards, or a device to play with your friends.

Wednesday, May 24- LAST DAY & EARLY RELEASE! 

May 8- 12

To get the kids ready for 3rd grade, I had the kids copy this week's spelling words from the board.  Here is the list just in case your child was not able to copy the words correctly. The list is also on Spelling City. 
(disorder, disagree, distrust, dishonest, disgrace, 
disappear, until, plant, well, family) 

This week we will:

- work on solving two step word problems.

- have reading groups based on reading levels and student needs.

- continue our persuasive writing project.   
- begin learning about Jimmy Carter.

Market Day will be MONDAY, MAY 8. 

This week we will:

- add three-digit numbers with regrouping.
- work on solving two step word problems.

- have reading groups based on reading levels and student needs.

- continue working on our Fairy Tale projects.
- continue our vocabulary enrichment.   

- continue our persuasive writing project. 
- wrap up our study on the life cycle of plants.  
- begin learning about Jimmy Carter.
