Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break! 

March 26-30

This week we will:

- have a compacting lesson with the other second grade classrooms focusing on money.
- begin learning about equal parts, fractions.
- begin our Fairy Tale projects
- have guided reading groups. 

- learn about animals characteristics. 

- begin learning about animal life cycles.
- learn about prefixes, suffixes, and root words.
- wrap up our opinion pieces of writing.

NO spelling this week! 

 

March 19-23

This week we will:

- have our first compacting lesson with the other second grade classrooms focusing on money.
- continue our geometry unit, focusing on 3D shapes.
- begin our Fairy Tale projects
- have guided reading groups. 

- learn about dental health

- begin learning about animal life cycles.

NO spelling this week! 

March 12-16

Early Release on Wednesday, March 14 at 12:20.

This week we will:

- start our geometry study.
- learn about fairy tales focusing on The Three Little Pigs.
- have guided reading groups. 

- continue our opinion writing project.
- learn about "th", "sh", and "wh" sounds in phonics/ spelling.
- begin learning about constellations.

Wacky Tacky Wednesday, March 14. 
For $1.00, your child may dress wacky and tacky.  All donations will go for the schools I work with in Haiti. :) 

March 6-9

This week we will:

- work on one and two step word problems.
- learn about fairy tales focusing on Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
- have guided reading groups. 

- continue our opinion writing project.
- learn about adding -s, -es, & -ies to given nouns in phonics/ spelling.
- begin learning about stars and the sun.

Wacky Tacky Wednesday, March 14. 
For $1.00, your child may dress wacky and tacky.  All donations will go for the schools I work with in Haiti. :)
